School’s Out – Build Your Memory Bank With Your Family

So you’ve ended up here! Maybe you’ve tried googling what to do during your kid’s school holidays because you’ve ran out of ideas. Holidays can be stressful at times especially when the kids get a little mischievous. But then again, holidays shouldn’t have to be this hard right? Remember just like how our school holidays once were with our parents?

As parents ourselves, we get that horrible feeling of not being able to spend enough time with our kids during school days just to keep the family going and to put food on the table.

Demands of our work can be unforgiving that it keeps us glued to our phones even when our kids are around. And when it’s time for us to take a breather, we spend time scrolling on our phones during the holidays as a form of unwinding and distressing from so much responsibilities at work or school.

When I look back at a photo of myself when I was a kid, at a swimming pool together with my whole family during a school holiday, I feel the same emotions as when the photo was captured even 10-20 years later. The rush of adrenaline – feeling real lucky to be alive, having spent the time with the people I love.

Love transcends time, and I think photos are the time machine we’ve always wished we could build.

But do you find yourself wishing you have more photos during the 2000/2010s era? Our parents took a lot of photos of us when we were kids, but our memory bank slowly reduced during our young adult/teenager phase. What happened to the other holidays and celebrations?

Are we guilty of taking advantage of the convenience we have from compact cameras and smartphones, just storing the photos somewhere in the iCloud?

To be honest, I can’t remember much of the memories during the memory bank “gap” period because…
1. I didn’t “have the time” to take proper photos and print them out to look at and remember
2.
I can’t even remember the photos I took with my phone because of the convenience of the smartphones – we’re always snapping photos, sometimes without much thought put in
3. Our p
hotos are then just stored in the iCloud, piled under the new photos we’ve taken, along with screenshots/photos for work etc…

And learning from this, our suggestion is to always print them out.

Holidays give us time to explore life together with our loved ones. Even if you spend it at hawker centres, or just driving around Singapore idly, we find strength from our emotional memories & bond that is nurtured through family time, especially for our children. Remember that’s what our parents did for us?

We can see that in the photos that our parents took so that we can hold onto the memories, and cherish it forever.

Holidays need not be always extra special, it can even be an everyday activity with plenty more time to spend together with our kids. Go out and intentionally spend time with your kids and family, make every moment count no matter how small the activity is.

Capture and print the memories… because when they grow older, they have photos to look back and remember us and the times we spent together.

Difference Between 100 Days & Sitters Baby Milkbath?

What’s So Special About Baby Milk Bath Photoshoot?

Before anything you might already be asking yourself if baby milk bath photography should be in your considerations in the first place.

“The normal classic baby photoshoot or the baby milk bath shoot?”

What is it that makes it so special that I should do a baby milkbath shoot? Is it worth it?”

And then, you might find yourself contemplating between doing a 100 Days Baby Milkbath or the Sitters Baby Milkbath. So hard to make choices sometimes!

We wrote another blogpost about why we feel Baby Milkbath is such a huge score. It isn’t just a bath time. Even a simple activity like this is a bonding session for your baby. And while providing sensory learning for your baby, it’s a simple activity that you always do at home…… Only for a certain period of time until they can manage on their own when they’re older.

So if you’ve entered the parenthood life and whether you have missed the newborn shoot period or not ready to do a newborn shoot, but still want to intentionally capture memories – Baby Milkbath photoshoot is one we’d happily recommend. Which one should you choose? We’re going to show what you can expect from the 100 Days and Sitters Baby Milkbath photoshoot to help you decide.

There is no option that is better than the other. Every milestone is beautiful and unique to all parents.

So What’s The Difference?

100 Days Baby Milkbath photoshoot are for babies who are not able to sit just yet, while Sitters Baby Milkbath are for babies who can already sit independently on their own (and have not started walking).

100 Days Baby Milkbath

For 100 Days Baby Milkbath, we like to have mummies to join in the shots. You will be holding onto them on your laps while the both of you are in the adult tub. Enjoy your time in the tub playing and interacting with your baby while we take some shots at it. This is such a beautiful continuation, if you had previously done Maternity Milkbath photoshoot as well.

Isn’t it weird that sometimes we find our babies so different suddenly?

Almost like a different baby altogether?

They look so different, no longer looking like mummy but looking more like papa now. They’ve started to respond more and respond differently.

New personalities has started to show too!

Your now-chubbier baby has hit another significant milestone, 100 days on this earth.

And so so many accomplishments…

We love to capture that and so, we also do some shots of your little bub lying down on their own in a baby tub, and time-freezing their expressions and reflexes.

Reflexes? Yup, those are special too!

Sitters Baby Milkbath

On the other hand, for Sitters Milkbath photoshoot, we get to celebrate and capture their new milestone – sitting independently on their own in the baby tub (which is provided in our studio too).

As every babies are different, some may start to sit independently at 6 months, some at 8 months or some at 10 months. As long as they are able to sit one their own for a long time, that’s a good time for this shoot.

And how cute that they are still tiny but so full of different expressions! Capture your baby’s wonders and playfulness from this series.

Because…. What else can a simple activity like taking a bath can make someone laugh and be so happy?

Here’s a video of Behind The Scenes of a Baby Milk Bath Photoshoot for Baby Shayera who did her 100 days and then her sitter milk bath photoshoot and other babies who have done their milk bath sessions!

Having just given birth, your new life with your baby is not always easy.

There are so many post-pregnancy feelings that you didn’t know could come or even exist.

And yet you still adapt and do the best you can for your baby as you enter the new parenthood life.

Just like anything else in this life…. even skills and love grow along with time. In a blink of an eye (it really feels that fast!), your newborn is now 7 months old.

It’s not only just a celebration of their milestone, but also really a celebration of how far you’ve come in your new roles as parents.

You’ve embraced the changes in stride. Some days are really hard, some days it took so much strength to muster, but you’re still going on and that’s what matters most in life.

So why do we think Baby Milkbath is so special? It’s an everyday activity that you do with your baby. It’s memories close to home. With each day that passes by, your baby and you change even through bath time. Sometimes taking mental pictures of the special intimate moments with your babies are a blur to revisit mentally again, so we’d really like to turn them into tangible memories for you.

‘Dry’ or Milk Bath Photography? – Baby Milk Bath Photoshoot Singapore

You have seen your little bub grown so much, so quickly over the months…. achieved so many milestones in the short period of time after they were born. Taken countless photos and videos on your phone along the way… sharing them with your other half, the grandparents or on social…You might be thinking of getting a professional baby photoshoot done for your baby to capture their baby’ness.

We totally understand how tricky it is of wanting to take some memories of your baby but not having enough time on your plate…… So, let us give you a hand in this to have some keepsakes of your memories!

Baby Milk Bath Photography

A new genre of baby photography – Milk Bath Baby Photography, have surfaced a couple of years ago and we are slowly catching up with the rest of the world. This genre of photography is perfect for babies who simply love their Bath Time!

Do you feel like you’ve always loved the tiny little details and quirks of your baby when you spend time with them during their bath time, but didn’t manage to take photos of them?

Do you love how playful and cheeky they are during their bath time?

This is why we love the Milk Bath series! Whatever shots from the milk bath series, whether your baby is more serene, quiet and curious or playful and cheeky, Milk bath series give a more personal and candid touch to the photos because it’s focused on your baby’s expressions when they’re doing their favourite activity – Bath Time!

“Should I Do Classic Dry or Tub Baby Shots?”

Decision time…..Do You have to choose whether you want the classic dry studio baby shots? or include the baby milk bath shots?

Why not do Both?

If you have been considering Baby Photography and want something unique for your baby photos or you want something different from the photoshoot you had previously with your first-born, Baby Milkbath will be perfect for you.

We do both ‘dry land’ and “tub” shots for Baby Milkbath sessions (for independent sitters or for 100 Days Baby), so you still can get the classic signature looks while getting something different for your baby as well.

From their big toothless smiles, to splashing the tub water, to being curious of their surroundings. Quite worth it right? :D They won’t be this tiny to fit in a baby tub and be this chubby much longer.

Two different genres of photos in 90 mins, and there is so much personalities. When you have a window of opportunity, you always try to accomplish as much as you can with your babies right? A huge score!

What To Expect In A Baby Milk Bath Photoshoot?

Essentially, Baby Milk Bath session is similar to our classic Baby Photography session but with an added bonus.

What this means is we will do the classic land shots – some shots of you playing with them, their own solo shots on the milestones of tummy time, family shots PLUS ending it with the Milk Bath shots.

For 100 Days Baby Milk Bath, Mummies are preferably be inside the big tub with your baby; followed by them solo in the smaller baby tub. Studio environment and the water is temperature controlled to suit your baby. Most babies leave sleeping like a log after the bath:)

And if you have previously done Maternity Milk Bath Photoshoot with us, this is a great continuation of that.

We leave you here with some images from our 100 days baby milk bath photoshoots.

If you have some questions in mind about this series, tap ‘Baby Milk Bath FAQ’ below to learn more.

If you feel that this is what you’ve been looking for – and want to turn these beautiful milestone and bath time memories (which would otherwise have stayed in your mind which only you can feel and remember) to tangible memories that you, your family and your baby can re-visit together again and again.

Not Ready for Newborn Photoshoot? How About a 100 Days Baby Shoot?

Not Ready For Newborn Photoshoot When You Just Had A Baby?

For new parents to be and/or parents of young children, if you feel overwhelmed with the changes in your life after the arrival of your new bundle of joy. Upon your baby’s arrival, Do you….

  1. keep staring at the little eyes, toes, fingers
  2. rush straight to baby when baby makes every sound or cry?
  3. try to figure out what your baby wants, whether baby is too hot/too cold, uncomfortable or if baby had pee or poo’ed;
  4. constantly check to see if the diaper is soiled?
  5. feel you are constantly breastfeeding, expressing milk or keep washing and sterilising the bottles?
  6. remembering which side of the breast baby last fed/expressed;
  7. feel that you are subconsciously worried about baby even while you are asleep?
  8. feel you need to be very efficient when you eat, shower/clean so that you can be ready in time for baby’s next feed; or
  9. feel you have only 10 mins to spend in the supermarket to buy your baby’s necessities or simply to clear your mind while baby is asleep… etc etc

Congratulations! You are not alone and its time to embark on the new phase of your life.

They are only newborns for a month, toddlers for a few years then you see them run around as children for a couple more and before you know it – they hit the teenager phase, then they will be all grown up.

You have seen the sheer amount of newborn photos on social and your friend’s feeds and you like to get that too. HOWEVER, you’re still in confinement and not feeling your best with the sleepless nights, and hope to lose abit of weight first before you’re confident to be in front of the camera.

You’ll prefer to do the shoot abit later when:

  1. you are more settled in,
  2. you are more confident in handling baby,
  3. when baby is more alert, responsive and full of expressions;
  4. when you are still on maternity leave.

All when your baby is still small and capturing their ’tinyness.

So how much later? When then is the next milestone to take baby photos after the newborn phase? When is a good time to photograph babies?

100 days old photoshoot (Classic + Milk Bath) would be a great milestone to preserve before you miss another milestone. WHY?

  1. We heard that some cultures celebrates 100 days as commemorates the full 1 year from the time you conceive and is a very special time preserve memories at this stage.

  3. You can do both tub and ‘land’ shots in one session. We love this series so much because you truly get the best of both worlds, especially if your baby loves their bath time.
  4. You get to capture your baby’s facial responses and expressions! Curiosity, alertness, eye contact, smiles, and even precious cries.
  5. You are more rested now and have gain better momentum at handling your babe… Now you’re ready for lights, camera and action!
  6. It’s the time when your baby is all chubby and baby rolls are your latest obsession and how you just can’t get enough of those fishball cheeks, so much so you just want to keep kissing them!

While Newborn Photography definitely has that serenity to the photos, 100 Days Baby Photography has so much individuality and charisma to it because of the babies! This series will be more focused on your baby engaging and interacting with you more too.

Our photographer will guide you through the whole process so you know exactly what to do during the shoot.

Gather Your Kampung For Family Photoshoot

For all the things our families have done for us, be it big or small gestures, when we were younger or recently – sometimes we can’t thank them enough, even for just being there with us.

That’s what family is, always being there for and with you at the end of any day, and doing it all over again.

When someone asks “How is your family like?”, we can’t answer them at times because all we see are flashes of memories from different parts of our lives which made such a big impact on us that… we become speechless? All of a sudden we’re not sure how to string words together to describe our family, because all the bitterness and all the sweet memories mixed together, is quite  indescribable.

But you know how it feels – how your family is like. Words cant quite describe your family like how you feel.

But photos portray how you feel. Somehow though, photos really do say thousands of words. Cliche, I know! But that’s the truth behind why we become photographers. The amount of love and gratefulness that you feel towards your family, it shows in the photos. From how you treat each other during the shoot, how you smile with each other to your body language when you take photos with each other. And this still shows even though some families do not live together in one household anymore – maybe because they are separated by seas, circumstances or work. But when everyone gathers the whole kampung, you paint a perfect picture. Every individual playing their role that somehow ties the relationship into your unique family.

There’s no better gift and expression of gratitude than making a keepsake of the people who loves you and vice versa, and enjoying the shoot with each other – the core meaning and drive behind a reason to capture memories. Sometimes, this is why photos are a great way to express gratitude and love to the people you cherish, because they get to hold onto a tangible memory too.

So, gather your whole kampung! Bring your cousins from overseas, bring your siblings, bring everyone together once again for a mini gathering, and take memories while at it.

The impulse to save our recorded memories is a powerful testament that tells us much about the importance of photography in our lives, and also the desire to capture our most precious moments into images.

Photographs are a wonderful thing. When we are happy we like to look at them, to remember the joyous occasions. And we do the same thing when we’re feeling down or sad.

We scroll the photos on our social media account and reminisce upon photo albums that have keenly served as as a tangible memoir to help us remember essentially the great past times with people we care about. Also in a lot of cases, to remember the ones who have left us behind.

We couldn’t think of any person who would not like to be photographed. Maybe there are individuals out there, but perhaps their numbers are few to come.

Presenting someone with a photography session that they and their families can enjoy is thoroughly a rewarding thing. We have yet to come across any family who refuses to be photographed, in actuality, most would jump at the chance to have their moments captured.

It’s always a good time to create memories. Hold on and cherish your time with your loved ones, because time is gonna pass by quick. If you are curious and want to find out more about the photography services we rendered, simply shoot us an email at info@bambiniphoto.sg or Send Us a Message and we promise to get back to you in the nick of time ;)
