Baby Milk Bath can be photographed at different stages, from around the 100-day milestone to babies who can sit independently.
Depending on your baby’s age and what they are comfortably able to do, the session can include classic baby portraits, photographs with Mum, Dad and siblings, followed by the Milk Bath setup.

Who Is Baby Milk Bath Suitable For?
Baby Milk Bath is particularly suited to babies who are already comfortable with and enjoy bath time.
The way we photograph the session depends on your baby’s stage. A younger baby who cannot yet sit independently will need a different approach from an older baby who can sit comfortably on their own.

What Age Is Suitable For Baby Milk Bath?
We photograph Baby Milk Bath at different stages rather than requiring one exact age.
Around the 100-day stage, the photographs are adapted around a younger baby who isn’t expected to sit independently.
At the sitter stage, once baby can sit independently and comfortably, we can create sitting portraits and photograph more of baby’s interaction with the bath setup.
Every baby develops at a different pace, so what your baby can comfortably do matters more than an exact age.
Does Mum Need To Be In The Tub?
For younger babies who aren’t yet able to sit independently, we may recommend that Mum joins baby in the larger tub so baby can be comfortably supported while being photographed.
For independent sitters, baby can be photographed sitting in the baby tub where appropriate.
We’ll advise you based on your baby’s stage when planning the session.
Is Baby Milk Bath Photography Safe?
Your baby’s comfort and safety come first throughout the session.
We adapt the photographs and setup around your baby’s age and what they can comfortably do, and we won’t attempt a position that isn’t appropriate for your baby.
For younger babies who cannot sit independently, a parent may need to support or join baby rather than placing baby independently in the tub.
If baby isn’t comfortable with the Milk Bath on the day, we can focus instead on the classic baby and family photographs.
Is The Water Warm?
Yes. The water and studio environment are prepared with baby’s comfort in mind, and the studio’s air-conditioning can be adjusted during the session.
Can We Take Classic Baby Photos As Well As Milk Bath Photos?
Yes.
The session can include classic baby portraits first, followed by the Milk Bath setup. Depending on who is joining, we can also photograph baby with Mum, Dad and siblings before moving into the bath.

Can Parents And Siblings Join The Photoshoot?
Yes. Family photographs can be included alongside baby’s individual portraits, so the session doesn’t have to focus only on baby.

What Props Are Available?
We have selected props for the Milk Bath setup, including flowers, foliage and bath toys. If you prefer a simpler look, the setup can also be kept minimal.
You’re welcome to bring a small favourite bath toy if there’s something your baby already knows and enjoys.
What Should We Bring?
For baby, bring:
✔️ Favourite small bath toys or comfort toys
✔️ Towel
✔️ Change of clothes
✔️ Swim diapers
✔️ Any outfits or accessories you’d particularly like photographed
You can also bring familiar toys that help baby relax and engage during the classic portion of the session.
What Should Baby Wear?
For the classic portraits, bring a few simple outfits that you like on your baby. Overalls, simple clothing and small accessories can work well.
For Milk Bath photographs, we’ll advise you on suitable clothing or swim-diaper options depending on the look you prefer.
What Should Mum Wear?
For family photographs, coordinating tones generally work better than everyone wearing exactly the same outfit.
If Mum will be joining baby in the Milk Bath, we’ll advise you before the session on what to bring. Selected robes and fabrics are also available in the studio.
What If My Baby Doesn’t Enjoy The Milk Bath On The Day?
Babies don’t always react the way we expect, even if they normally enjoy bath time.
We work around your baby’s comfort and responses during the session rather than expecting a particular expression or photograph.
If Milk Bath isn’t working for your baby on the day, the classic baby and family photographs still give us another way to preserve the milestone.
