5 Tips For A Great Cake Smash Photoshoot

Cake Smash For Babies is definitely going to be a whole new sensorial experience. We’ve prepared the top 5 tips to assist your baby in the lead up to the cake smash photoshooting on the day. Scroll down to learn more!

1. TRY SOME CAKE BEFOREHAND

If your baby is still just starting on solids and haven’t quite added “cakes” to their diet, eating cake for the photoshoot would be a completely new and unfamiliar thing to them!

Try some at home first! Find some colourful spongey goodness and eat it with them :) Smash them even, encourage some play so when they come for their photoshoot, they wouldn’t feel strange towards cakes.

2. BRING THEIR FAVOURITE TOYS/SNACKS

We all need some warm-up time, even adults! (I mean, at my age, I still need some time to warm up to a new environment) so understandably, kids would too.

Bring their favourite toys (that you wouldn’t mind getting a little cake on), their favourite snacks – raisins, biscuits, crackers – we can start nibbling on those to “warm-up” and then proceed on to the lovely cake we would have for the photoshoot once they feel more comfortable :)

3. TOWELS, WIPES & EXTRA CLOTHES! (for yourself too!)

It’s a cake smash… so by that, expect some mess, haha ^^ And in the midst of smashing, your baby might ask to be carried, or at the end of it, while cleaning them up, some cake might get on you too, so bring towels, wet wipes and some extra clothing.

4. BE PATIENT, BE PRESENT – STAY IN THE MOMENT

Depending on your child, some kids need more warm-up time than others, which is fine! Giving them time to warm-up actually helps us capture the best images of them later! We’re not here to rush through, but staying in the moment. Be present and patient and just enjoy watching your child observe and mingle in their environment, trying on new texture – the cake, and of course having fun!

5. GET HANDS ON – CAKE SMASH TIME, FUN TIME WITH YOUR CHILD

Children takes after their parents, they learn first by following what you do. You eat cake first, they eat cake too. We encourage parents to join in to have some shots taken together, even with baby’s older sibling. Getting them to feed their younger brother or sister can create such a sweet moment. No fanfare, just quality family time.

Is Family Photoshoot Worth It?

For all the things our families have done for us, be it big or small gestures, when we were younger or recently – sometimes we can’t thank them enough, even for just being there with us. To us, family photoshoots are definitely worth the time and effort!

That’s what family is, always being there for and with you at the end of any day, and doing it all over again.

When someone asks “How is your family like?”, we can’t answer them at times because all we see are flashes of memories from different parts of our lives which made such a big impact on us that… we become speechless? All of a sudden we’re not sure how to string words together to describe our family, because all the bitterness and all the sweet memories mixed together, is quite indescribable.

But you know how it feels – how your family is like. Words cant quite describe your family like how you feel.

But photos portray how you feel. Somehow though, photos really do say thousands of words. Cliche, I know! But that’s the truth behind why we become photographers. The amount of love and gratefulness that you feel towards your family, it shows in the photos. From how you treat each other during the shoot, how you smile with each other to your body language when you take photos with each other. And this still shows even though some families do not live together in one household anymore – maybe because they are separated by seas, circumstances or work. But when everyone gathers the whole kampung, you paint a perfect picture. Every individual playing their role that somehow ties the relationship into your unique family.

There’s no better gift and expression of gratitude than doing a family photoshoot, making a keepsake of the people who loves you and vice versa. Enjoying the shoot with each other – the core meaning and drive behind a reason to capture memories. Sometimes, this is why family photos are a great way to express gratitude and love to the people you cherish, because they get to hold onto a tangible memory too.

So, gather your whole kampung! Bring your cousins from overseas, bring your siblings, bring everyone together once again for a mini gathering, and take memories while at it.

The impulse to save our recorded memories is a powerful testament that tells us much about the importance of photography in our lives, and also the desire to capture our most precious moments into images.

Photographs are a wonderful thing. When we are happy we like to look at them, to remember the joyous occasions. And we do the same thing when we’re feeling down or sad.

We scroll the photos on our social media account and reminisce upon photo albums that have keenly served as as a tangible memoir to help us remember essentially the great past times with people we care about. Also in a lot of cases, to remember the ones who have left us behind.

We couldn’t think of any person who would not like to be photographed. Maybe there are individuals out there, but perhaps their numbers are few to come.

Presenting someone with a photography session that they and their families can enjoy is thoroughly a rewarding thing. We have yet to come across any family who refuses to be photographed, in actuality, most would jump at the chance to have their moments captured.

拍摄专业全家福的8项主要原因

在过去的数年里我们拍摄过各式各样，大大小小的家庭。我们发现家中的各项重要事件或变故，成了这些家庭愿意抽出时间前来拍摄的主要因素。然而他们拍摄全家福的最终目的却始终如一，既是刻画 “一个快乐家庭”的理念。这样的观念说得容易，但却是由很多因素相续促成的。无论如何，对于个人或是家庭而言，拍摄全家福的触发点都不尽相同。

我们对此总结出了人们雇佣专业摄影师拍摄全家福的8项主要原因

1. 庆祝人生的重要里程碑

生日，周年纪念日，毕业典礼….

“庆祝” 就是人们会需要雇佣专业摄影服务最普遍的原因。庆祝个人的人生里程碑比如孩子，父母或是祖父母的生日，又或是周年纪念日，10年，15年，25年，甚至50年结婚周年纪念，除此之外，家中增添新成员，办喜事，或是家庭成员毕业了都将是对于一个家庭而言又一新的篇章，人生值得记录的阶段。

可别忘了家中宝宝的不同成长阶段，他们第一次抬头，3个月时学会趴着对你笑，6-9个月时开始能够自己坐着或是站起来，他们的一岁生日以及他们走着跑着，父母在身后追赶他们的样子，那些快要把你搞疯却又很快乐的时光。

当宝宝到达人生的下一个阶段，就会更想要追寻人生的下一个大跃进。当他们学会了翻身及趴着，就会一而再地去尝试，直到可以坐起来。学会了坐立以后，他们又将步入下一个阶段，就不再回到那个每天躺着或趴着的时光。然后学会了站立，他们将会开始尝试爬行或摇摇晃晃地学走路。

有好几回，父母带着1岁的小朋友前来拍摄，希望拍摄孩子趴着的可爱模样。但是每当父母把孩子放下，他们就会马上转过身坐立并站起来。宝宝就是不愿回到从前的样子，学会走路了又怎么还会想要去爬？我们完全可以理解，因为那是小孩迅速成长的同时，再自然不过的反应了。因此，若是您想要在宝宝出生的第一年拍下这些特别的人生阶段，您就该要好好地为孩子计划一番。

2. 家人病痛或是即将离去

生命很美好直到我们接收到了死亡的信号。在悲伤之后，我们唯一想做的大概就是把所有家庭成员留在身边。通常在这时候，我们会希望全家人能够整整齐齐地聚在一起，记录曾经成为彼此的家人，拍摄一张全家福，留下美好的记忆。

我们曾为无数个病患家庭拍摄全家福..摄影师的敏锐度与专业能力将会影响每一个家庭成员或是病患的最佳拍摄状态。是的，或许有一天我们病危或年迈的家人终将会需要那一张特别的照片。大多数人在临终前或许还来得及去拍摄一张遗照，但很可惜的是有些人却没能来得及。

在这样的拍摄前提下，家人通常会暗示或提前通知我们为病患或年迈的父母拍摄一张庄严又好看的个人照以备不时之需。这是一件所有人都清楚知道但却不愿提及的事，请别认为为此事做好准备言之过早，我们有丰富的经验去引导客户并让大家愉悦地完成拍摄。

因此下一次若您安排全家福拍摄，可带上家中年迈的父母，并预先告知我们家中有老人家需要拍摄那张 “特别的照片”，我们会在最轻松愉悦的情况下替您完成您的要求。

3. 为不在照片里而懊恼

您收藏了成千上万张你的另一半及孩子的照片，那的确是件很美好的事。但要是您一遍遍地翻看手机里的照片却不见自己的踪影，别人又是否都会忘了你的存在呢？任何人都不想要当那个“不在照片里的那一位”。

当然，偶尔的自拍确实是好玩又有趣，但是又有多少的自拍照最终会被冲洗出来，或是像个艺术作品般展示在家中？对了！这就是我想要告诉您的，那些照片将会被收藏在手机内直到手机故障或是遗失，而照片也就此随之而去。

我不是想要告诉您不该自己拍照，只是想要让您意识到，像我们这些专业摄影师都会不时请人为我们的家人拍摄全家福。

或许说您需要 “那一张” 全家福听起来会觉得很肤浅，但实际上，我们想要捕捉的是家人之间的情感联系而并非仅是那一张照片。

有的人会说自己不喜欢拍照，乐于当那个手持相机的人。因为她们认为自己产后身材走样，想要等到自己身材恢复后才会考虑让自己再次出现在镜头前。您肯定知道的..要是您是在那为数不多的例子中幸运的那一位，我们绝对会恭贺您甚至还会带点嫉妒。然而真实的情况却是，绝大多数的妈妈都需要一段较长的时间去恢复产前的身材或体态，您的孩子也不会知道您的身形大小，他们看到的是您现在的样子，如何批判也是取决于您自己。

通常到了一个触发点您就会开始受不了，当您回看从前的照片时，愕然发现大多数的照片都没有自己的踪影。您的孩子会问 “为什么妈妈没有在照片里面？” 或是 “我记得我们在照片当中的某个地方” ，接着开始形容他们记得拍照的那一天发生了什么事，而不曾提及妈妈当时的身型或体态。

这个触发点因人而异，有些人会在数年后才恍然发现，而有些人则在产后的第一年就开始醒觉了。当您的家人决定去雇用一个信任的家庭照摄影师，相信会拥有一张漂亮的全家福，并且有“你”在照片中。

我们有位长期客户就曾说过他们喜爱使用手机拍照或录影，记录孩子们的日常生活，但他们还是会在每一年抽出时间，至少拍摄一张正式的全家福及兄弟姐妹的合照。这是为了让孩子们记得他们来自一个家庭，彼此在一起拥有很多的爱及欢乐的回忆。

We had an awesome maternity cum family photoshoot with Bambini. All queries with regards to shooting day, attires, photos selection, special upgrade packages etc. were addressed promptly and the staffs are also nice & warm.

On the shooting day, our photographer Fatilyn has managed to capture all the precious moments in freeze frames. I can see joy, I can see love, I can see bliss in the pix. She also managed to capture my 2 elder kids’ cheeky moments. Friends have commented that there are so much love in the photos. And the service is really fast, I get to view the 100+ drafts on the same day of the shooting! We even manage to get their goodwill services for additional editing on some of the photos as per our request.

Conclusion: love, love the photos outcome. Price is reasonable too & it feels comfortable doing the maternity shots as the photographer is very professional. Highly recommended to all friends out there & will definitely come back again for our future shoots.

After spending weeks researching for a family portrait photoshoot we’ve chosen Bambini Photography and did not regret doing so!

Lydia coordinated the photoshoot arrangement and recommended packages for a family of 12 pax. She was very prompt on my many queries asked via Whatsapp, very efficient and hassle-free.

Joy was our photographer on 11 Aug, she was extremely warm and friendly and created a nice environment for my family to settle in. Not only did she provide clear directions but she also sought our opinions on what we liked to do for the photoshoot.

She was also very brilliant with the children. My nieces and nephews were between 1 to 4 years old and she worked very well with them, engaging them and making sure they provide eye contact with her camera. We were a group of 12 and I’d said she managed our family very well.

We had an indoor photoshoot and the studio is very spacious and clean. Additionally its very kid-friendly, many props and toys for the young ones to be entertained. My young nephew even had an emergency diaper change in the studio and Joy was perfectly fine with it. She also gave us some freebies for the little ones!

Bambini’s after sales service is very commendable. The basic edited photos for selection were provided very promptly in 2 days on Dropbox. What impressed me was that Joy was very available when I contacted her to discuss and seek her opinion on how to edit some of the photos and recommendations for further printed products.

Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bambini to friends who want a fun and stress-free photoshoot with good service. And it’s not difficult to see why they have established so many regular customers.
