Mother’s Day Celebration
To us, everyday is Mother’s Day but there is one particular day in a year that is dedicated just for mothers. On the 2nd Sunday in the month of May, this is the day the world celebrates Mother’s Day.
Its the time of the year again where in normal times, we see mothers from young to old receiving flowers; 1-5 generations of mothers celebrating Mother’s Day with a special meal with the family; Baby girl, mum, grandma to great/great grandmas spending the day together visiting /revisiting places of interest reminiscing memories spent with the family.
Mothers Day in 2020
Mother’s Day in May 2020 is going to be very different. For our elderly mother’s safety in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the best love and gift for our mothers this Mother’s Day is instead for us to stay home, get them to stay home, and visit and check in on them via phone or video calls. This time round to protect them instead of the other way round. And we do this all for their safety.
For our young mothers with younger kids, we try to rise above this chaos and temporarily adapt to all things new – to be patient to guide our young kids through home schooling while cleaning, cooking, working at the same time, all under one roof.
To also be adaptive to new habits of frequent hand washing, remembering to wearing masks and observing social distancing in rather tight living and business spaces.
To get used to planning things ahead so we can be efficient to get all things done in one quick outing to the markets/hawker centre.
To learn new skills of ordering things, groceries and food online (if we haven’t jump on the bandwagon yet).
That said, there will always be light at the other end of the tunnel. We persevere, we do our part, we get through it together and we will all end up on the other side soon enough.
Since 2009, we are privileged to see many families come through our door to celebrate their motherhood journey in the form of photographic memories. From maternity to newborn to family to extended generation family photography.
Here is a short video of some of the families that comes through our door for us to document their love and bond together as a family. All of us at Bambini Photography wishes all mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day!
