100 Days vs Sitters Baby Milk Bath – What’s The Difference?
Should you do a Baby Milk Bath photoshoot at 100 days, or wait until your baby can sit independently?
Both stages can create lovely photographs, but they look quite different.
At around 100 days, baby isn’t usually sitting independently yet, so photographs are created around what baby is comfortably able to do, including photographs with Mum or Dad and supported or lying-down portraits.
At the sitter stage, baby can sit independently, which opens up different possibilities for photographs in the baby tub and allows their expressions and emerging personality to become a bigger part of the session.
Neither stage is better. The difference is what your baby can comfortably do at the time of the photoshoot.

100 Days Baby Milk Bath
At around 100 days, baby isn’t expected to sit independently, so we plan the photographs around what your baby is comfortable doing at this stage.
Mum can join baby in the larger tub for photographs together, creating images focused on interaction and connection. We can also photograph baby separately in positions that are appropriate and comfortable for them.
For families who previously had a Maternity Milk Bath Photoshoot, this can also create a lovely continuation from pregnancy to baby’s first few months.
Sitter Baby Milk Bath
The sitter stage begins when your baby can sit independently and comfortably without needing to be held in position.
There’s no need to plan the photoshoot around an exact age. Some babies reach this milestone earlier and others later, so what matters more is what your baby can comfortably do.
Once baby can sit independently, you have a few different ways to photograph this stage:
Classic Sitter Portraits — simple baby portraits focusing on expressions, personality and the sitter milestone.
Sitter Baby Milk Bath — for babies who enjoy bath time, with sitting portraits photographed in the baby tub.
Themed Sitter Portraits — for families who prefer a more playful styled setup with costumes, props or backdrops.

Can We Include Classic & Family Photographs Too?
Yes.
Baby Milk Bath doesn’t have to be the entire photoshoot. Depending on the session you choose, we can also photograph classic baby portraits and photographs with Mum, Dad and siblings.
This means the session can preserve baby’s current milestone while also updating your family photographs.

Choose Sitter Baby Milk Bath if you’d prefer to wait until baby can sit independently and would like sitting portraits to be a bigger part of the photographs.
There isn’t a better stage — they simply preserve different points in your baby’s first year.
