A Baby Milk Bath session at Bambini can include classic baby and family photographs first, followed by Milk Bath photographs, giving you two quite different looks from the same milestone.

Classic portraits focus more on baby’s expressions, milestones and interaction with Mum, Dad and siblings, while Milk Bath photographs add a more playful element for babies who enjoy bath time.

Here’s how the two styles differ and what you can expect if you’d like to include both.

What Are Classic Baby Portraits?

Classic baby portraits are what we sometimes refer to as the “dry” part of the session. This is photographed in the studio without the bath setup.

Depending on your baby’s age and what they are comfortable doing, photographs can include:

✓ Expressions and close-up details
✓ Tummy time where appropriate
✓ Baby with Mum and Dad
✓ Siblings together
✓ Family photographs

These photographs tend to be more timeless and place the emphasis on baby and the relationships within the family.

What Is Baby Milk Bath Photography?

Baby Milk Bath photography adds a playful bath-time setup to the photoshoot.

For babies who enjoy being in the water, it can be a lovely way to photograph their expressions and personality. Some are quietly curious about what’s around them, others could be happily splashing away.

The Milk Bath doesn’t have to replace your classic portraits. It can simply become another look within the session.

Do I Have To Choose Between Classic Portraits And Milk Bath?

No. You can do both.

We can begin with classic baby and family photographs before moving into the Milk Bath setup later in the session.

This means you can create photographs of baby’s milestone, photographs with Mum, Dad and siblings, and the more playful Milk Bath images without having to choose one style over the other.

If you already have family photographs from an earlier milestone and want something different this time, you can also place more emphasis on the Milk Bath portion of the session.

Can Parents And Siblings Join The Photoshoot?

The classic part of the session can include baby with Mum and Dad, siblings and photographs of the whole family before moving into the Milk Bath setup.

For families with babies from around 3 months onwards, this can also be a convenient opportunity to update your family portraits while photographing baby’s current milestone.

What Happens During A Baby Milk Bath Photoshoot?

We usually photograph the classic portraits first, while everyone is dry and ready for family photographs.

Depending on who is joining, this may include baby alone, baby with parents, siblings and the whole family.

We then move into the Milk Bath portion of the session.

The exact photographs we create depend on your baby’s age, what they are comfortable doing and how the session is progressing on the day.

For 100 Days Baby Milk Bath, Mummies are preferably be inside the big tub with your baby; followed by them solo in the smaller baby tub. Studio environment and the water is temperature controlled to suit your baby.
