All Dogs go to Heaven | Family Home Photography

“Over the years I’ve come to appreciate how animals enter our lives prepared to teach and far from being burdened by an inability to speak they have many different ways to communicate. It is up to us to listen more than hear, to look into more than past.”
Nick Trout, Love Is the Best Medicine: What Two Dogs Taught One Veterinarian about Hope, Humility, and Everyday Miracles

It was so lovely having visited this regal home filled with lovely hounds.

There’s always something about homes with furry hounds roaming around, they are generally livelier.

Dogs can teach humans a lot of life’s values, such as : compassion, loyalty, generosity, and most of all, love.

A dog owner will realise overtime just how intuitive those canines are. They are able to sense if their owners are sad or happy.

Dogs are non-judgemental beings who will accept their owners just as they are.

Having pets in a household of young children, allows the children to develop a sense of responsibility as they learn to care for their furry pet.

It is heartwarming seeing how owners get excited to incorporate their pets into family shoots.

We hope for more pet owners to do the same next.

We are always happy to take pictures of your lovely canines and felines in our studio even at the comfort of your home.

Happy Fathers’ Day | Studio, Home & Outdoor Photography

Traditionally, the role of a father in a household is minimal.

In a typical patriarchal society, a father is often taking the role of either the discplinarian and mostly the breadwinner of a family, and almost religiously- a person who is most revered and feared.

Times has since changed and the rule of father has somewhat shifted.

We are in an era where fathers are taking a more active role in their children’s lives.

With more and more women increasingly paving a career in the working world, the men are likewise contributing to the time put in doing their domestics and taking care of their children.

We are featuring images, some featuring the male that spans generation and others are photos of dads and their children that will make you go jelly just from seeing them.

The bond between a child and their father is a special one.

We’ve always admired the relationships between children and their dads which is built on mutual trust and understanding. Something unspoken yet vividly

We’d like to dedicate this day to all fathers out there- old and young alike.

The ‘Perfect’ Parents | Newborn Home Photography

There are no perfect parents.

Human to begin with, are not perfect.

We often hear parents who chastise or gossip about other parents for not being ‘good parents’.

What defines good parent or good parenting even?

Researchers, Child Psychologist, Counselors, Progressive Parents and many more have come out with all sort of theories on what it takes to be good parents.

One of those include never laying a hand or raise your voice on a child, dissing constant praises and encouragement – in all parents have to be saint and sage-like.

Mothers, ideally are still expected to be the one to care for the children, be at their beck and call because it is them who is the ultimate caretaker.

Those who defy the odds are then shunned, gossiped and criticised.

When it comes to children, almost everything seemed sacrilegious.

Parents often stressed and battle with the notion of what is right and is wrong and should be avoided for fear of damaging their children.

We all want to strive for perfection, some because they do want to repeat what they’ve been through, others, just want to be the perfect role model for their children.

However it is also important to note that sometimes in order to achieve perfection, we might lose a little of the rawness of what’s real.

There is not mathematical formulae to being the ultimate parents but we can all remember that at the end, it bores down to what the journey parents and child go through together through mutual understanding and most importantly what brings the utmost happiness to your child.

“Parenting has nothing to do with perfection. Perfection isn’t even the goal, not for us, not for our children. Learning together to live well in an imperfect world, loving each other despite or even because of our imperfections, and growing as humans while we grow our little humans, those are the goals of gentle parenting. So don’t ask yourself at the end of the day if you did everything right. Ask yourself what you learned and how well you loved, then grow from your answer. That is perfect parenting.”

Metamorphosis | Maternity and Newborn Photography

We had the pleasure of taking both maternity and newborn photography for this lovely couple [family].

We have taken a number of pre and post pregnancy photos and yet it never fails to amaze us when we witness the transformation of those women who have gone through labour and emerged from it a champ.

We are reminded to pause and enjoy the miracle of life, the changes in someone.

These days, the decision to become parents is becoming more obscure with rising cost of living. For some women, motherhood is instinct-like, while a handful others may not have a clue on how to handle children.

People change, we grow, we manifest into something else, a better version of ourselves.

Becoming parents follow the same ideology, where changes and grow are palpable. Some grow with their children, others grow for their children, and maybe a handful more found that they’ve reach the maximum of their growth route.

But likening metamorphosis where the caterpillar transformed into a butterfly, the process of parenthood and motherhood are both equally magical and a life-changing experience.

“Suddenly, through birthing a daughter, a woman finds herself face to face not only with an infant, a little girl, a woman-to-be, but also with her own unresolved conflicts from the past and her hopes and dreams for the future…. As though experiencing an earthquake, mothers of daughters may find their lives shifted, their deep feelings unearthed, the balance struck in all relationships once again off kilter. ” ~Elizabeth Debold and Idelisse Malave
