Perfect | Maternity Studio Photography

( watched online photography seminars as a past-time, and I always hear this word many pro photographers (my colleagues and boss too!) say as a remark while shooting – “Perfect”

It used to baffle me because logically there isn’t anything perfect, and we’re supposed to celebrate excellence over perfectionism – until I caught myself sub-consciously telling my client, “That’s great, perfect!”

Then I think I understood, it’s perfect because what’s going on before our camera and what we’re ready to capture is exactly how we have envisioned it in our minds – and as I was looking at these set of images my colleague shot and I thought, it’s perfect =) The fabric we use for maternity photoshoots flowed so beautifully on her, creating those little waves and how the light highlighted mummy’s face and how her hands are positioned over her baby bump – just the way we love the maternity images we create to look.

Critical people will still have critical words to say, but hey, no hating here – we love these, and we hope you love them just the same as we do =)

Baby Bump Love | Maternity Studio Photography

I love it when couples come in with their own props because it adds a personal touch to the photos and stirring away from what I usually do is a welcome challenge. Geraldine and Eric were such a fun couple to work with as they were game to whatever I suggested. And since they already showed me sample photos of what they wanted to achieve all I had to do was direct them, take the photo and of course add a bit of my personal touch. It was all smiles and laughs towards the end of the session, a fun shoot indeed.

Merry hearts | Family Outdoor Photography

I laugh so much, I can just laugh for you for no reason then laugh for real because what I just did was silly… hahaha (get what I mean?)

Many times, I get my clients to laugh with me too, I think our smiles look most natural that way! I mean, we can say “cheese” but how long can “cheeesseeeeee” go before our smiles look frozen and unnatural right? Same for kids, they have that fake smile thing they do, but when they’re playing and laughing for real, the natural smile they have is what their parents love the most “)

Literally, we go “hehehe” or “hahaha” sometimes during the photoshoot, it’s not foolproof but it works most of the time for me and that’s exactly what we did for this big family photoshoot!

I mean, they say “laughter is good for your soul” right? And a merry heart does good, like medicine.

Nine yards of spice | Maternity Studio Photography

We decided to do something a little bit different for our maternity shoot today. Instead of  using the conventional translucent fabric that we usually recommend for maternity session, this beautiful mother-to-be decided to put her saree to the test.

A saree is typically two to nine yards in length and about one to one and half metre in breadth. The saree is a symbol of Indian culture and signifies the grace of Indian women by displaying their curves at all the right places. Likewise, the result is this striking picture that captured both the vibrancy of the saree, the mom’s- to-be pregnancy glow and her beautiful bump.

At Bambini, we love experimenting with new styles and things. Therefore if you have an idea for your shoot, do not be shy to share it with us.
