Essence of Photography | Maternity Studio Photography

To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.

We have been getting a lot of request for a sensual soft silhouetted photos for maternity photography.

This technique of playing with the lighting creates a dewy look that is dreamy.

It eschewed subjects facial feature and helps to intensify the artistic form likened by many photo enthusiast.

Silhouetted Bump | Maternity Studio Photography

We have been very inspired by a lot of the silhouetted maternity photography images that seems to be on the surge these days.

Silhouette techniques involved an extensive knowledge and technique when it comes to projecting the light to get a soft huey, almost dreamy like image.

There are those who like this genre of photography, as it provides a sort of a canvas, or anonymity yet still able to achieve that classy and elegant look that bodes well with expectant mothers.

There is a certain artistic kick or twist to the picture that makes these “semi-nude” pictures looked very becoming.

We have Annie Leibovitz to thank for it. She was the first break the norm and started the whole maternity photography trend which was once considered controversial by emblazoning the heavily pregnant Demi Moore on the cover of Vanity Fair in 1991.

Since then, many photographers have attempted and produced maternity images of women who’d like to capture their pregnancy moment.

Faith | Maternity Studio Photography

There is always something magical about doing maternity shoot or photography as some like it.

It is the embodiment of how much our bodies, or more specifically, women bodies can endure.
To carry a baby for nine months, to go through the agony of contractions.
To emerge from it a winner, with a baby in tow, is a testament of strength and faith.

“Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
~Mother Teresa

And so he is in love with a child he has yet met, for there lies his strength, he promised to take care of both mother and child for the rest of his life.

Nine yards of spice | Maternity Studio Photography

We decided to do something a little bit different for our maternity shoot today. Instead of  using the conventional translucent fabric that we usually recommend for maternity session, this beautiful mother-to-be decided to put her saree to the test.

A saree is typically two to nine yards in length and about one to one and half metre in breadth. The saree is a symbol of Indian culture and signifies the grace of Indian women by displaying their curves at all the right places. Likewise, the result is this striking picture that captured both the vibrancy of the saree, the mom’s- to-be pregnancy glow and her beautiful bump.

At Bambini, we love experimenting with new styles and things. Therefore if you have an idea for your shoot, do not be shy to share it with us.
