FYI: Mommy Yuki knitted this cute ensemble (first 2 photos) for her precious little girl, for 2 months! :O She told me she had a bit of complication during her pregnancy so knitting was a way for her to pass time and look how adorable it is!

I bet mommies and daddies recognize this face, yes, it’s the poop face! Haha! Good thing I was able to get one good shot of this before the fabric got soiled. Babies have the best expressions, even the angry, crying ones are funny, once you learn how to tune out the sound, that is! But this baby was all smiles and looks of extreme concentration, and then relief. She fell asleep in her parents’ arms soon after – I guess she was all pooped out!

There’s nothing like being a new parent – the mounting excitement in the last days of pregnancy, the anticipation of an exciting uncharted phase of life. The madness, magic and sheer exhaustion of birth, the slow, but increasing recovery and adjustment to your new lives together. Xavier and Vanessa shared an afternoon with us to photograph the newest addition to the family. Here they are in one of the quieter, more serene moments in the hectic first month. Unfazed by the stress and sleeplessness of caring for a newborn all day and all night, they radiate a gentle beauty, the calm contentment that only proud parents know, in the glorious (if brief) snatches of peace.
